Lake Baikal

With a depth of 1639m, Lake Baikal is the world's deepest, and apparently contains 20% of the planet's fresh water. Oddly, its shores are also Eastern Siberia's answer to Cancun. Though with a maximum water temperature of 9°C, few actually make it into the lake. We managed a quick dip, but it would be generous to describe it as a swim.
